FLSA Status: ExemptSite/Location: HeritageHigh SchoolReports to:Band DirectorDate:06/13/2025POSITION SUMMARY

As an assistant to the high school Band Director the woodwind technician coordinates the preparations exercises and activities of the school marching bands woodwinds. The instructor prepares and directs the unit for independent performance and competition and for performances integrated within the larger marching band.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Attend all rehearsals band camps and performances actively participating in assisting students in sectional and whole group rehearsals.
  • Instruct basic to advanced woodwind exercises and fundamentals.
  • Organize and lead rehearsals and sectionals.
  • Develop and implement the visual design of the program.
  • Instruct the woodwind technique.
  • Show design collaboration with drill writers and unit staff.
  • Repair and maintain equipment.
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with the Athletic Director Band Director Percussion Caption Head Band staff Band members School Administration Booster Organization and Custodial Staff.
  • Recommend new equipment purchases within the budget allocations for Band Director approval.
  • Consultant to booster Director and parents in areas of percussion studies within the marching arts programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Band Director will provide for a successful program.
