Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Position Summary:
Athena Medtech is seeking a highly motivated detail-oriented and licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our esteemed rehabilitation team. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for evaluating planning and implementing comprehensive therapeutic programs designed to empower patients in developing regaining or maintaining essential daily living and work-related skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a collaborative spirit working seamlessly with interdisciplinary teams to foster patient independence and significantly enhance their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients physical cognitive mental and emotional conditions utilizing standardized assessments and clinical observations to identify functional strengths and limitations.
- Develop and implement individualized evidence-based treatment plans with measurable goals tailored to patient needs and aspirations.
- Provide targeted therapeutic interventions to enhance functional abilities across a spectrum of activities of daily living (ADLs) instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) and vocational tasks.
- Educate patients caregivers and family members on effective strategies for managing daily routines preventing injury and promoting sustainable independence.
- Rigorously monitor and document patient progress adjusting interventions as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians physical therapists speech-language pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Recommend custom-fit and provide comprehensive training to patients in the proficient use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology to maximize independence.
- Maintain meticulous and timely patient records ensuring full compliance with all organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. (Doctorate preferred for advanced roles or specific settings).
- Current and valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of New Mexico (NM) is required.
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is required.
- CPR certification (required).
- Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven ability to work both autonomously and as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous clinical experience in customize as needed e.g. acute care geriatrics mental health orthopedics pediatrics neurorehabilitation preferred.
Schedule & Environment:
- Full-time position: 35 hours per week.
- Monday to Friday schedule.
- No weekend rotation required.
