Job Description

Radiation Therapist Radiation Oncology
Department: Radiation Oncology
Location: Athena Medtech
Schedule: Monday Friday 08:00 17:30 5 days/week (8-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 40
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
Position Type: Travel or Permanent

Position Summary

Athena Medtech is seeking an experienced and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our dynamic Radiation Oncology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a technologically advanced patient-centered environment featuring an Accuray CyberKnife Varian TrueBeam two Elekta Infinity units and a dedicated High Dose Rate (HDR) suite. As a key member of the oncology care team you will play a pivotal role in delivering individualized high-quality radiation therapy treatments that support patient healing and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver precise patient-specific radiation therapy treatments in accordance with prescribed oncology treatment plans.

  • Clearly explain treatment processes to patients and address their questions and concerns with compassion and clarity.

  • Operate advanced imaging and radiation equipment to ensure safe and accurate therapy delivery.

  • Monitor patient responses during treatment assess side effects and provide appropriate care recommendations or interventions.

  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists physicists and dosimetrists to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.

  • Adjust therapy plans in consultation with the oncology team based on patient progress or tolerance.

  • Perform routine quality assurance and calibration checks on simulation and treatment equipment to maintain performance and safety standards.

  • Provide emotional and educational support to patients and their families throughout the treatment journey.

Qualifications
  • Completion of an AMA-approved Radiation Therapy Program.

  • CRT California Certified Radiologic Technologist (Required).

  • ARRT(T) Radiation Therapy Certification from ARRT (Required).

  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (Required).

  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a clinical radiation therapy setting.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset.
