Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architecture Research and Development Analyst/Architect to support strategic IT planning and enterprise architecture initiatives. This role will focus on evaluating emerging technologies documenting current and future state architectures conducting gap analyses and creating enterprise reference models. The successful candidate will possess a strong foundation in enterprise architecture frameworks and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders across state agencies and vendor partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct technology research and evaluate enterprise-level software and architecture solutions
Document current state architectures and define target future state architectures
Perform architecture gap analysis to identify improvement opportunities and inform decision-making
Develop and maintain enterprise reference models roadmaps and standards
Apply and interpret industry-standard frameworks such as the Zachman Framework TOGAF and NASCIO
Collaborate with state agency personnel vendors and internal teams to align technology solutions with business strategies
Translate conceptual ideas into actionable architectural deliverables
Provide guidance and architectural oversight for strategic IT initiatives and R&D efforts
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the enterprise architecture practice through research and innovation
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in enterprise architecture IT strategy or technology research and development
Working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks including Zachman TOGAF and NASCIO
TOGAF certification is a plus
Strong analytical conceptual and strategic thinking skills
Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders including government agencies and external vendors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in creating documentation and architectural artifacts (e.g. models roadmaps standards)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field
Experience with enterprise architecture tools (e.g. Sparx EA BiZZdesign MEGA)
Familiarity with cloud-based platforms digital transformation and state-level IT ecosystems
