Unit Information:

o Beds: 40

Average Census: 40

o Minimum Years of Experience required 18 months Med/Tele exp

o Will you accept a first-time traveler Not preferred

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

o Geriatric Urology status post Total Joints (knees and hips) Sickle Cell

o General MedSurg Tele diagnoses include but are not limited to: Stroke COPD Respiratory issues and illnesses Flu/PNA/COVID GI Bleed Renal Failure (AKI/CKD) Electrolyte imbalance AMS (altered mental status) Weakness

Patient Ratios:

o RN: 1:5-6 (Day & Night)

Required License National Certification Certs (BLS ACLS etc.) or other position specific requirements such as Drivers License and/or Insurance:

o RN: BLS ACLS NIHSS

Skills required:

o RN: EPIC experience Cardiac rhythm interpretation experience with non-titrating Cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone) general medical/surgical skillset care of patients with tubes/drains IV start skills blood products wound care/dressing changes etc.

Support within the Department:

o CNA (Ratios dependent on census/staffing) patient care (ADLs/Vitals/Nutrition/Blood sugar checks) and mobility

o No Receptionist/HUC

o Charge nurse

o Clinical Supervisor daily to act as Resource for team

o Phlebotomy 24/7

o IV/VAT Team 24/7

o Pharmacist dedicated to unit

o Case Manager x 2 per unit

o MedSurg Clinical Nurse Specialist

o RT 24/7 will perform Nebulizer treatments

o Nurse Educator

o Hospitalist 24/7

o No remote Tele Monitoring - Unit Clerk Charge/Clinical Supervisor and Staff are responsible to read and post every shift

Technology/Equipment:

o EMR: EPIC

o IV Pump: Alaris

o Med dispensing: Omnicell

o Monitors: Phillips

o Rover Communication

o Hoyer lift; Gait Belts; Activity closet for confused patients

Floating:

o Within region and scope of practice

o Will be required to float per region needs will require floating to all facilities listed below as needed within scope of practice DECLINE if not agreeable

Region 2 - Pineville Anson Union Union West Central Division (CMC Main CMC Mercy Levine Childrens Hospital)

If floating mid-shift Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

Orientation (facility and unit):

o NEO

o 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

o Weekend rotation: every other

o No call

o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off excluding holidays must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours

o Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
