Designs develops improves and ensures effective application of product-specific manufacturing processes. Contributes to all aspects of manufacturing process design including plant layout tool design material selection machinery controls and installation of capital equipment. Supports product / project operations by continuously improving quality safety flow of materials and process efficiency. Evaluates processes procedures equipment capacity and capability and layout and recommends steps to ensure process improvements. This role will be located in the North Canton facility and the applicant should expect to work on site in the office and plant environment each day
Responsibilities- Offers input on designs for manufacturing processes procedures and production layouts.
- Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment.
- Creates and maintains work instructions and manufacturing specifications.
- Verifies quality control conformance to drawings and specifications.
- Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
- Inspects and verifies machinery performance.
- Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control.
- Works with engineering on design concepts and specification requirements.
- Ensures processes and procedures comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- Purchases and tracks materials required for new products and production run trials.
- Plans and releases purchase orders to secure inventory as needed.
- Willing to work cross functionally with R&D personnel to help refine product design as the voice of manufacturing.
- Helps guide and implement engineering changes related to their assigned projects.
- Resolves receiving and invoice discrepancies and manages applicable metrics within the job scope.
- Prepare risk buy analysis for implementation of engineering changes.
- Makes recommendations for using up and balancing materials for engineering changes.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Capability to lead and motivate small teams to accomplish goals with a targeted time frame.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Engineering.
- Excellent business and technical English skills (Written and spoken).
- Excellent computer skills not limited to Microsoft office suite Teamcenter NX & Oracle.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
- Active participation in LEAN manufacturing initiatives and Kaizen improvement events.
- Must live within a commutable distance to the North Canton manufacturing facility
- Good vision & dexterity with the ability to stand walk or assemble product in a factory environment for extended periods of time.
- Attention to detail and capability to setup processes that require technical precision.
- Capability to work at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Familiarity with hand tools electric drivers and general light assembly processing equipment.
- Ability to present to groups of people including small to medium size audiences with poise and clarity.
- Multitasking and prioritization of tasks is a critical skill for a successful candidate in this position.
