In support of our business units Mission Engineering Advisory and Technical Services and Team Downer as the prime Major Service Provider (MSP) we deliver above the line consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence including groups (Defence Digital Group (DDG) Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) the services (Navy Army and Air Force).

Joining our talent community ensures youll be considered for permanent consulting roles with Downer Professional Services supporting Defence and National Security projects across all service lines. Whether you specialise in systems architecture infrastructure engineering automation or messaging solutions we want to hear from you.
If successful in securing a role your work may involve:
- Designing developing and implementing ICT infrastructure solutions to support Defence and government operations.
- Building integrating and securing ICT systems in complex multi-domain environments.
- Managing system configurations patching and upgrades to ensure operational resilience.
- Troubleshooting complex ICT issues and providing solutions to optimise performance.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams ensuring alignment between technology and strategic objectives.
Our work is highly complex and confidential applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance. Additionally compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary. In some cases this may impose restrictions on individuals with dual nationality permanent residency or former nationality of specific countries as outlined in ITAR 126.1.
Were seeking candidates with Defence Industry experience in the following areas:
- Strong experience in ICT Engineering Systems Administration or Infrastructure Development within Defence government or professional services.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g. Microsoft VMware Cisco ITIL or equivalent).
- Expertise in system architecture cloud solutions security frameworks and automation technologies.
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and related tools (e.g. DOORS Cameo or Enterprise Architect).
- Problem solving mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality mission-critical solutions.
