Pay Differentials Offered (must qualify through testing or verification):
- Language Translation - Bi-cultural Spanish: $1.00 per hour
- Bimodal Bilingualism - ASL Sign Language: $1.00 per hour
- Bimodal Multilingualism - ASL Sign Language: $2.00 per hour
Overview:
Provides substance abuse assessment and counseling using a goal-oriented approach and employ therapeutic techniques that help our clients improve their ability to manage their emotions enhance their communication skills and develop more effective coping skills. Facilitates and conducts programs for participants in ways to reduce the negative impact of the use of chemical and alcohol involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides individual and group drug and alcohol treatment using RCS approved best practice models and structures including crisis intervention and referral to and collaboration with collateral services.
- Provides case management including maintenance of individual client files group rosters and group notes in the appropriate Electronic Health Record system.
- Develops treatment plans with clients based on client goals and assessment results.
Qualifications:
- Must be certified (or registered) by a California recognized drug and alcohol certifying body (including trainee categories)
- Preferred - Registered or Certified AOD Counselor in the State of California in good standing with prior training in counseling or addiction treatment.
- Possession of an Associate of Arts degree in Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Other Drug Programs and one year of experience or three years experience in a mental health or substance abuse setting.
- Experience in mental health or substance abuse field may be substituted for the degree.
Conditions of Employment:
- May work across all agency programs as needed.
- Occasional flexible work schedule required to meet individual client needs.
- Must possess a valid CA Drivers License current auto insurance and a clean DMV printout (no more than 3 points).
- Must pass a clear background check with DOJ CACI FBI CCL.
- CPR and First Aid Certified.
- TB Exam and Physical at the time of employment.
Driving Requirement:
- Driving is a required function of this position. Employees must use a personal vehicle that meet all agency requirements including maintaining liability insurance that meets or exceeds state requirements.
- Employees are responsible for ensuring the timely renewal of their vehicle insurance policies and providing updated documentation to the agency to remain in good standing and compliant with position requirements.
Training Provided:
- Comprehensive onboarding including CPR/First Aid Crisis Communication/Pro-ACT Trauma-Informed Care Motivational Interviewing and Collaborative Problem Solving.
