We are seeking a Director of Enterprise Architecture who will help BYU-Pathway to technically scale from our current 80000 active students to over a million students over the next several years. The incumbent will have a massive global impact as they serve our global student population in 188 countries. This position requires deep and broad technical experience as a seasoned professional and seasoned leader especially in higher education IT.
Under the direction of the CIO this position is responsible for the overall design and performance of the BYU-Pathway application ecosystem and its alignment with the organizations strategic objectives focusing on optimal functionality flexibility and scalability within budget constraints. This role will also be involved in mentoring and guiding other technical staff members.
Important: This position requires a seasoned technology leader with a minimum of 15 years of full-time technical experience including at least 10 years in technical leadership 5 years in an architect role and 3 years leading development teams. A bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM with frequent evening and weekend work and travel required to accommodate providing support to a worldwide student population.

Strategic Architecture Design: Develop and maintain a comprehensive application architecture roadmap and design documents that aligns with the companys business strategy considering scalability performance security and future technology trends.
Collaboration with Executives Stakeholders and Teams: Work closely with department directors and vice presidents business stakeholders program managers product managers project managers solutions managers development teams and especially other architects to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
Collaboration with System Architects: Work with System Architect and Solutions Managers to:
Cultivate develop and grow BYU-Pathways low-code engineering team: Mentor advise and support the low-code engineering manager and the development of a new team of contracted BYU-Pathway student developers from around the globe.
Education:
