We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the accounting operations of our organization. In this key role you will work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting compliance and internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills leadership experience and a proactive mindset.
Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including general ledger accounts payable/receivable payroll and fixed assets.
Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Manage and support the month-end and year-end close processes.
Develop implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies.
Coordinate audits and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
Mentor and supervise accounting staff; ensure ongoing training and development.
Assist with budgeting forecasting and financial analysis as needed.
Support the Director of Finance with special projects and process improvements.
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (CPA preferred).
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop would be ideal) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type:Full-time
Pay Rate: Starting at $95000 per year based on skills qualifications and experience.
Job Location: Hybrid with the ability to come into the Englewood NJ office.
Work Schedule:Monday through Friday.
