Shipping Associate

Location: Lake in the Hills IL

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Compensation: $17.40/hr


AFC is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Associate to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure efficient safe and professional picking packaging and loading of customer orders. The Shipping Associate will also determine the best method of processing orders to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.


What Youll Do

  • Prepare and assemble orders for shipment including picking packing labeling and verifying products against shipping documents.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy quality and damage; document and report discrepancies.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to load/unload trucks and transport materials safely.
  • Communicate effectively with logistics production and customer service teams to support order fulfillment.
  • Post weights and shipping charges and affix appropriate postage.
  • Maintain high levels of service by adhering to organizational and national shipping standards.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized; ensure compliance with all safety and operational procedures.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to confirm they meet customer specifications.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records including inventory movements and shipping documents via warehouse management systems.
  • Manage inventory levels of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal safety quality and (where applicable) food safety protocols.
  • Operate and feel confident using hand tools including nail guns circular saws reciprocating saws and chop saws after appropriate training.

What Youll Bring

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain powered industrial truck certification.
