We are currently seeking Lairage Operators to safeguard the livestock. This is a full time position working Monday to Friday - 6.00am to Finish with a salary of 12.40 per hour.

Duties:

Safeguard the wellbeing of livestock

Move livestock to secure holding pens causing minimal stress

Keep the abattoir serviced with livestock

Keep the lairage facilities clean and tidy

Adhere to Company hygiene practices & animal welfare procedures

Comply with health & safety rules to prevent / minimise the risk of accidents

Participate in training in accordance with your personal training plan

Carry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested by the manager

Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but full training will be given for inexperienced people keen to learn the trade

Good attention to detail

Able to use own initiative

Good communication skills

Self-motivated

Able to work as part of a team

Basic literacy and numeracy skills

Experience with livestock desirable but not a requirement

Certificate of competence certified desirable but not a requirement
