About the team
Stripe Tax is one of Stripes most requested products and has grown rapidly since it launched in 2021. The product solves an urgent need for almost everyone that sells something online. We provide solutions for calculating and reporting sales tax VAT and GST for over 40 countries. The product integrates seamlessly with other Stripe products but can also be used by merchants not using Stripe for payments. Our design team creates the user experiences for tax calculations no-code and low-code integrations registrations and reporting. These workflows touch some of the most used surfaces in the Stripe dashboard. Because its a newer offering we have much to build and there are many opportunities for high impact.
What youll do
In this role youll work on a mix of new feature development and product quality improvements to our most frequently used dashboard workflows. Youll collaborate with product and engineering partners across several different teams to shape and execute a range of design solutions for our merchant users.
Responsibilities
- Understand user workflows and pain points and produce test and iterate on high quality designs to solve user needs
- Partner closely with product engineering marketing and strategy partners to define a north star and product experience for new features
- Prototype user experiences for testing and internal communication
- Collaborate with teams across Stripe to craft a seamless dashboard user experience
- Conduct UXR to test design decisions before shipping
- Collaborate with our design systems teams to leverage and improve page templates and components

Minimum requirements
- Has 4 years relevant design experience at a product-driven tech company
- Has strong craft demonstrated through a portfolio of work
- Has experience designing data-rich UX
- Has experience collaborating closely with engineering teams
Preferred qualifications
- Has experience collaborating with different partners across org lines
- Has a passion for turning complexity into usable beautiful experiences
- Are a strong design leader comfortable with bringing your point of view to a team
