Job Description

About the Role: Our Inspection Team is seeking a responsible Associate to support quality inspection of both Membranes and Coated Films. This commitment provides the opportunity to join an established platform and help ensure that we are meeting our operations objectives and business needs. The standard weekly hours are 3:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position is a visual inspection role.

This role will be located in Elkton Maryland.

Pay and Benefits:

  • $19.00 - $32.00 per hour
  • This role is eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay for evening night and weekend shifts (in California the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour)..

  • Perform visual quality inspection of both membrane and coated film
  • Make quality decisions within defined boundaries of Workmanship Standards
  • Keep a detailed record of quality issues and loss reasons using MES
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) Work Instructions and Product Specifications
  • Ensure alignment with environmental health and safety requirements in the work area
  • Identify and actively participate in continuous improvement efforts
  • Partner with the engineering team to support R&D and NPD efforts
  • Utilize our quality systems to ensure processes consistently deliver products that meet customer needs and expectations

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years prior manufacturing/in process inspection experience with the ablility to lift 35 pounds on a regular basis
  • Experience in successfully managing multiple often conflicting priorities
  • Attention to detail and experience working within a defined Quality System; following written instructions and making good product-quality decisions
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Adapt to schedule changes; flexibility to work in alternate areas on work alternate shifts or overtime as needed
  • Basic math and computer skills with ability to learn more advanced computer applications
  • Comfortable working independently as well as in a functional team environment
  • Proven track record of productive active-listening relationship building and fostering a team culture
  • Ability to make decisions within gray area (demonstrated understanding of personal waterline)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience on Multiple Film and/or Membrane Inspection Machines with material handling to support the Inspection Process
  • Experience working side by side with engineers
  • Prior leadership sponsorship or trainer experience

To minimize disruption to the business while supporting growth and development Associates are expected to fulfill a minimum of 2 years in commitment before applying to another internal commitment. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved.

This role requires pre-hire medical clearance by Gore which may include testing to assess visual acuity and/or the ability to wear specific safety equipment as required during the performance of the role.

This position requires access to export-controlled areas and must be U.S. persons as that term is defined in 8 USC 1324b(a)(3). The term U.S. persons includes resident aliens (green-card holders) as well as certain refugees asylum-holders and residents qualifying for temporary residence under the terms of 8 USC 1255a.
