Job Description

Responsible for managing both the origination and distribution of syndicated loans led and co-led by CoBank. Coordinates with internal and external constituents to balance borrower customer and investor customer needs. Essential Functions

  • Determines the pricing and structure of transactions launched into the market.
  • Manages specific underwriting decisions and tracking/reporting of underwritten transactions.
  • Tracks market behaviors and provides market updates to internal and external audiences.
  • Manages relationships between teams including TOM Sales/Trading Analysts Senior Associates and Associate Directors and will be responsible for managing the deal training and development of Senior Associates.
  • Oversees the lender invitation and allocation process in conjunction with other key internal constituents.
  • Communicates investor feedback and recommends changes based on market feedback.
  • Pitches new business to borrower customers and manages co-lead partner coordination.
  • Engages with new and existing customers on market conditions and transaction structuring.
  • Develops and pitches new ideas to existing and prospective customers.
  • Works with the Capital Markets Division Head and Syndicate Head of Origination on management responsibilities reporting requirements budgeting decisions and strategic business reviews.
  • Where CoBank leads transactions manages the dialog and coordination among co-lead partners to provide consistent messaging to involved parties.
  • Encourages engages and provides updates to new and existing customers as it relates to capital market conditions marketplace transactions market updates industry structuring deal advice and representing the division for all new customer business matters.
  • Balances risk and return deal metrics designed to achieve profitable outcomes.
  • Provides mentoring and coaching support to other staff.
  • Strong business knowledge and experience interpreting financial data.
  • Ability to effectively research new markets.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Masters Degree or MBA preferred

Work Experience

  • 10 years of experience preferably in banking or financial services industry required
  • 5 years of supervisory/management experience required
  • Experience negotiating complex credits and structuring financing
  • Knowledge of agriculture and/or infrastructure industry
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Extensive knowledge of non-recourse and structured financing techniques
  • Familiarity with inter-creditor agreements syndications and loan participations
  • Broad knowledge of regional and national regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated proficiency in cross-marketing
  • Ability to multi-task prioritize and manage multiple projects and transactions and deliver on commitments within tight timeframes and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of associates management and internal customers across the bank as well as external vendors and other stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to deliver commitments while juggling multiple projects and priorities. Ability to work effectively under deadline pressures and adjust quickly and effectively to changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences. Excellent active listening skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook Word PowerPoint Excell Access)

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $192000 - $236160. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge skills expertise and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
