Job Description
Lower School Physical Education Teacher
Position Status: Full-Time
Classification: Exempt
Classification: Exempt
Location: Victory Christian School
SUMMARY
The VCS Lower School PE Teacher is responsible for planning organizing and implementing an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic and spiritual potential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials in physical fitness health education rhythms and dance utilizing curriculum and other appropriate learning activities.
- Provides engaging fun and effective instruction that helps build a health and wellness foundation for young children.
- Provides maximum participation for all students; differentiates as needed to ensure all students experience success.
- Analyzes demonstrates and explains basic skills knowledge and strategies of games and fundamentals of body movement.
- Organize and implement childrens physical cognitive and social and emotional learning through lessons designed to sequentially develop skills appropriate to their ability and confidence levels.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
- Provide appropriate feedback on work.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching techniques.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural economic and ability backgrounds.
- Encourage parent and community involvement obtain information from parents when requested promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
- Participate in professional development and activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in related field.
- Oklahoma State certification in Education Instruction relative to the department and grade desired.
- Maintains and demonstrates a mature Christian lifestyle consistent with the teachings of the Church.
- Native English speaker (or) the capacity to successfully pass a TOEFL Exam with instructional proficiency.
- Good communication problem solving and priority setting skills as well as maintaining an overall positive and professional attitude /disposition.
- Ability to effectively plan organize and implement educational activities.
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
- Must be able to manage confidential information.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to:
- Sitting standing bending kneeling squatting crawling stooping walking and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds;
- Manual dexterity with the use of hands fingers to feel objects tools and controls;
- Sighted with color peripheral near and far vision;
- Hearing and speaking;
- Excellent English communication skills.
