Job Description

THE POSITION

Are you passionate about working in an environment that serves to help others Join Luzerne-Wyoming County Mental Health and Developmental Services as a Mental Health Program Specialist 2. This administrative position involves mental health program planning service analysis and coordination for children and adolescents. The role ensures timely effective and coordinated outreach and services for youth with multi-systemic needs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Program Specialist 2 you will have the opportunity to collaborate with interagency partners including school districts Children & Youth Services Mental Health Intellectual Disabilities Juvenile Probation Drug & Alcohol Services and private providers to deliver high-quality family-focused services. You will be responsible for scheduling coordinating and conducting case review meetings; coordinating special teams to address specific child or family needs; as well as initiating service development strategies proposals and grant writing activities. Work also involves promoting the meaningful inclusion of parents and consumers in treatment planning service development evaluation and policy development. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with parents and children to understand family concerns before meetings
  • Providing advisory services and support to community agencies and educational programs
  • Negotiating service plan financing with team members from involved agencies and systems
  • Identifying service gaps and recurring service delivery system issues
  • Maintaining an updated resource database of facilities agencies programs and community support
  • Serving as MH/DS Administration on-call during non-business hours
  • Participating in regional and state CASSP meetings and cross-system projects


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a County Mental Health Program Specialist 1;or
  • Three years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelors degree;or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
