Director of Learning & Visitor ExperienceThe Director of Learning & Visitor Experience plays a central role in ensuring that engaging high-quality learning experiences related to art history and nature are offered by the Frick for visitors of all ages as part of a diverse slate of mission-related and/or revenue-generating programs.
Must have a commitment to fostering a workplace culture of Equity Inclusion and excellent Customer Service.Hours: 35 hours per week with some weekend and evening hours required

Status: Full-time exempt with benefits
Salary: $83077-$92308 based on experience
Responsibilities:- Serve as part of the senior management team responsible for the general management of the Frick
- Develop dynamic educational initiatives and programming to further the mission of the museum including fostering an entrepreneurial spirit to explore new earned income opportunities through programming
- Hire and manage all Department of Learning & Visitor Experience staff and conduct or supervise staff trainings and evaluations on an ongoing basis
- Create and execute annual initiatives as part of the Fricks Strategic Plan.
- Create and manage the Learning & Visitor Experience Department annual budget and work with the Executive Director and Director of Finance to meet both departmental and site-wide financial goals
- Participate in quarterly trustee committee meetings and board meetings as a member of the senior leadership team
- Build and maintain strong interdepartmental and cross-departmental communications
- Ensure that all education program information is shared efficiently and consistently with other departments
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners that enable the Frick to serve diverse audiences
- Work closely with the Advancement and Engagement department to showcase programming to funders and to write successful grant applications and reports
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Department to provide information and content for Frick programs in a timely and thorough manner
- Present at local venues as well as local and national conferences to promote thecollections and work of the Frick
- Participate in interviews and media opportunities to promote education and programming at the Frick
- Ensure that programming is compliant with insurance risk policies as well as local state and federal laws. This includes but is not limited to liquor liability attendance capacityetc.
Position Requirements- Must possess a bachelors degree in museum education history art history or a related field
- Must have five years or more of demonstrable experience in a leadership position in a museum education department
- Proven ability to remain calm and confident under pressure using sound operational judgment to resolve complex issues
- Experience in a management role with a proven ability to lead motivate and develop a diverse team
- A track record of working collaboratively as part of a team to deliver a high-quality educational experiences
- Comfort with technology including familiarity with Office 365
- Possess a valid drivers license
- Must pass a background check
