Compassionate Home Care Aide Needed
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing dressing grooming toileting)
- Support with mobility transfers and use of adaptive equipment
- Provide medication reminders and administration as needed
- Prepare meals accommodating dietary needs and restrictions
- Light housekeeping to maintain a safe clean living environment
- Provide transportation to medical appointments errands and community activities
- Offer companionship and encourage social interaction
- Assist with communication and advocacy when needed
- Support participation in therapeutic activities and exercises
- Monitor health status and communicate changes to healthcare team
- Maintain detailed care logs and documentation
- Respect clients autonomy and encourage maximum independence
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous caregiving experience preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable transportation and valid drivers license
- Ability to lift to stabilize for transfers and perform physical tasks
- Excellent communication skills
- Patient kind and empathetic personality
- Background check and references required
- CNA HHA PCA or DSP certification
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of disability rights and person-centered care principles
- Familiarity with adaptive equipment and assistive technology
- Training in de-escalation techniques
