EMS Clinical and Remediation Coordinator
Role:
The EMS Clinical & Remediation Coordinator is responsible for the organization administration continuous review planning development and overall effectiveness for Emergency Medical Services student lab remediation and clinical experiences. These duties are performed in collaboration with the associated lead faculty in accordance with the academic standards rules and regulations of Grayson College Texas Department of State Health Services Committee on Accreditation of Education Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Responsibilities:
60% Develop implement and monitor effectiveness of student remediation plans and provide daily remediation for EMS students as
needed. Coordinate skills lab/remediation schedule experiences documentation and instructors in an organized manner. Implement and provide effective instruction which demonstrates appropriate knowledge of EMS in accordance with best practice literature. Maintain course records and student records as prescribed by the College and the Director of EMS Education.
30% Coordinate clinical (hospital and field) experiences including appropriate student scheduling instructor scheduling and clinical
documents. Maintain public relations with clinical agencies and the currency of clinical affiliate agreements/contracts. Resolve any clinical
conflicts and communicate student progress performance and concerns to the Lead Faculty prescribed by the College and the Director of EMS Education.
5% Provide orientation support and mentoring of part-time clinical faculty and provide field preceptor training remediation and document training as required.
5% Participate in the development of goals/objectives for the EMS Education Program self-study and program review budget planning and purchasing and in the College Strategic Planning process.

Qualifications:
Certificate of Paramedicine from a regionally accredited institution of higher education; Associates degree in Emergency Medical Services
Paramedic license for State of Texas.
NREMT Certification.
TDSHS EMS Instructor or equivalent or must obtain it within 18 months of hire.
Two years field experience as a paramedic.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of instruction testing and evaluation of students.
Experience in using CANVAS is preferred.
Knowledge of current national curricula national accreditation national registration and the requirements for state certification or licensure.
Participation in continued professional education.
