The Role
Quantitative Analyst (Capital Markets and Funding) at Oodle Car Finance.
Location and working style
Were based in Shoreditch London a 3-minute walk from Old Street station. While we operate under a hybrid working model initial onboarding requires 3-4 office days weekly. This ensures a smooth learning curve and fosters team integration.
Overview:
Were on the lookout for a Graduate Quantitative Analyst Capital Markets and Funding to join our expanding team to report into our Chief Capital Officer. This role will give you an opportunity to dive into a world of data strategic analytics and funding driven initiatives all while reporting into the Finance function - sounds exciting right!
Youll work alongside some of amazing talent in the industry with a primary focus on leveraging data to enable Oodle to secure best in-class funding solutions.
Oodle is amongst the most active capital markets issuers in the UK auto sector. We have raised over 3bn of debt to fund Oodles lending. Funding instruments include public securitisation asset-backed warehouse revolving credit facility forward flow and other private finance initiatives. The role provides the opportunity to work closely with some of the most sophisticated UK Capital Markets investors including investment banks asset managers and hedge funds.
Your impact:
Develop maintain and refine end-to-end data models that drive the businesss funding strategy using technical expertise in Python SQL and Excel modelling.
Conduct analysis and prepare materials for presentations to both internal and external stakeholders including EXCO the Board of Directors shareholders and investors.
Perform portfolio analytics forecasting and cash flow modelling assessing the performance of Oodles various funding entities.
Work closely with Legal and Execution teams to support all legal aspects of funding processes gaining valuable insights into the legal structures underpinning our funding models.
Foster strong partnerships across Oodle ensuring that key insights monitoring and oversight are effectively communicated to a range of teams.
Build an external network through collaboration with Investment Banks Asset Managers Pension Funds Hedge Funds Rating Agencies and Audit Firms.
Explore opportunities to expand your role across Oodles wider analytics and data functions while supporting the team with your subject matter expertise.
Who you are:
Highly numerate graduate or junior analyst with a STEM or financial background. This could include qualifications such as a BSc MSc or PhD in areas like mathematics statistics chemistry physics economics or finance but other relevant qualifications or experience will also be considered.
Analytical thinker with a natural aptitude for identifying patterns and deriving meaningful insights from data with the ability to work with both quantitative and qualitative data sources.
A proactive problem solver comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with the ability to tackle challenges directly linked to the businesss performance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential as the role involves interaction with a broad range of stakeholders.
A genuine interest in Finance Economics and FinTech with the appetite for further professional study (e.g. CFA IMC) is a plus.
A keen interest in Capital Markets and using data to create optimal funding solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with coding (e.g. SQL Python) data processing data visualisation or credit risk is beneficial but not essential.
Experience with Excel modelling is considered an advantage.
