Job Description:
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up surgical instruments sterile drapes and solutions.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot any issues before procedures.
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control practices.
- Assist in the positioning and prepping of patients prior to surgery.
- Pass instruments sponges and other necessary items to the surgeon during procedures.
- Count sponges needles and instruments before and after the operation to prevent retained surgical items.
- Maintain an organized and sterile field throughout the surgery.
- Assist in decontaminating and cleaning surgical instruments and equipment post-procedure.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team including surgeons nurses and anesthesiologists.
- Document and report any discrepancies or concerns regarding surgical supplies or procedures.
