Job Description
Job Title: CNC Programmer / Machinist
Location: Owosso MI
Job Type: Contract to Hire (CTH)
Pay: $28 - $40 per hour
Job Summary:
Our client an Owosso-based machine shop has engaged us in locating their next full-time CNC Programmer / Machinist to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize programs to ensure precision machining.
- Analyze blueprints and other drawings / specifications to determine proper processes and determine necessary parameters.
- Choose cutting tools and fixtures for the job based on materials being machined precision and machine capabilities.
- Set up machines for operations and make necessary adjustments based on analysis of machined parts to ensure they meet quality and precision standards.
- Identify and resolve issues such as tool wear software errors or machine malfunctions.
- Work with other teammates to resolve machining issues and improve efficiency.
- Operate and maintain lathe and milling machines and grinders.
- Use various methods / machines to produce precision metal parts.
Requirements:
- A HS Diploma or equivalent AAS or certification preferred
- 9 plus years of experience in a machining capacity
- 4 years of programming experience (G Code)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with a variety of metals and tight tolerances
- CNC and Manual experience required
- Computer savvy ability to work with windows applications / CAD/CAM software a plus
- Strong mathematical aptitude
