Job Description

As a department head you will be leading  two teams within IT .

Team 1 - Business Relationship Management
You will play a vital role in partnering with the lines of business to ensure that the IT strategy is aligned with the overall business strategy and that IT services effectively support business operations. Your responsibilities will include managing a dedicated Business Relationship Management team whose core activities involve fostering strong relationships between IT and the business. You will oversee their activities ensuring a comprehensive understanding of both IT and business needs and maintain overall connectivity between departments and cross business units .

The primary activities :

  • Connecting internal business with the necessary IT solutions to help them achieve their goals.
  • Monitoring the relationships between the Business Relationship team and key IT stakeholders suggesting improvements where necessary.
  • Ensuring that IT is perceived as an effective partner and enabler.
  • Promoting IT Services (ITS) to the business and providing education on business needs requirements and drivers.
  • Understanding the business direction and collaborating to shape IT solutions that align with that direction strategy and roadmaps .
  • Contributing to the development of the ITS strategy that aligns with the wider Deloitte strategy and continuously updating line of business strategies.
  • Collaborating with key business and IT stakeholders to establish and manage realistic service expectations reflected in service definitions scope and formal agreements.
  • Supporting the roadmaps of the line of business and prioritising demand in collaboration with the business CTO and stakeholders.

In this role you consider yourself the key driver in bridging the gap between IT and the business ensuring a seamless alignment between technology and business objectives.

Team 2 - Service Excellence Team


The Service Excellence team plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality reliability and alignment of the services provided to stakeholders. You are accountable for optimising three key areas:

  • IT Service Management: In this area the team focuses on Incident Management Problem Management Change Management Request Management  Configuration Management and Service Level Management. The primary goal is to provide robust support and deliver IT services in accordance with the agreements made with stakeholders.
  • Business Continuity Management: In this domain you aim to ensure that the services provided can withstand various challenges such as human error technological failures natural disasters or other disruptions. This involves implementing effective governance disaster recovery measures providing guidance and incorporating monitoring systems.
  • Quality Management: Quality Management involves establishing governance structures providing guidance and implementing monitoring systems to ensure that the services delivered meet the quality and compliance standards set by Deloitte Global NSE and NL.

By optimising these areas you strive to provide exceptional service maintain high standards and enhance the overall experience for stakeholders.
 

Department head generic activities and responsibilities:

  • Team Management & Development
    • Lead coach and develop department teams.
    • Implement and optimize ITS methodologies on ways-of-working (SCRUM Agile)
    • Compose training curriculums and upskilling programs to develop department capabilities and competencies.
    • Conduct quarterly performance reviews reporting out to the IT Management Team.
  • Strategic Planning & Vision
    • Serve as an integral member of the Extended Management Team.
    • Support ITS strategies and set a departmental vision covering organizational technology and process perspectives.
    • Translate strategy to department tactical and operational goals.
    • Develop and maintain the department year plan.
    • Implement activities to execute on the department year plan and to realize the ITS strategy.
  • Financial Oversight & Investment Management
    • Create and defend investment proposals to the IT management.
    • Manage budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and to safeguard proper resource allocation.
    • Hold budgetary responsibility and accountability for departmental cost .
  • Stakeholder & External Engagement
    • Collaborate with stakeholders including IT management Risk Compliance Finance and business teams.
    • Build relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Represent the department within Global and North South Europe communities ensuring local activities align with the wider organizations IT objectives.
    • Provide structured regular reports to the IT Management Team on performance capacity management and resource planning.
  • Innovation & Service Portfolio
    • Manage and continuously improve the departments service and product portfolio driving innovation and pro-active lifecycle management.
    • Evaluate emerging technologies and support transformation initiatives.
    • Review business trends to validate the departments provided services and products.
    • Embed sustainability as part of department processes and services aligning to Deloittes sustainability ambitions.
  • Risk Compliance & Cybersecurity
    • Ensure ISO and SOC2 certification compliance supporting business continuity disaster recovery planning and information security management.
    • Implement Global standards and policies ensuring technology and procedural compliancy on department level

  • Relationship Building and Stakeholder Management:
    Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders ensuring that IT services meet their needs and expectations.
  • Problem Solving and Analytical Skills:
    Proficient in identifying issues analysing data and developing innovative solutions that enhance service delivery and improve business processes.
  • Proactive Approach and Self-Starter:
    Demonstrated ability to take initiative anticipate challenges and drive projects forward independently ensuring continuous improvement and success.
  • Adaptability:
    Flexibility to navigate through organisational changes .
