Location: UHealth Tower
Shift Days: Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5:00 PM
The Clinical Dietitian 2 Specialty (H) provides nutrition care with greater than 70% of time spent in specialty service as warranted by the facility. The Clinical Dietitian 1 Specialty (H) assists with mentorship to the clinical dietitian staff and leadership to promote hospital-driven nutrition initiatives.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assesses the nutritional needs of patients and develops and implements nutritional care plans.
Documents the nutritional status and needs of hospitalized patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines.
Communicates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional needs of patients.
Initiates and follows patients for nutrient intake analysis and makes recommendations for continuance progression or initiation of alternate therapies.
Writes orders for diet supplement enteral/parenteral nutrition and laboratory data per hospital policy.
Provides counseling and education to patients and their families regarding various topics in medical nutrition therapy and drug nutrient interaction.
Serves as a clinical nutrition resource and subject matter expert to physicians patients and staff.
Ensures regulatory compliance including federal state and accrediting agencies.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Dietetics
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
State Licensure (LDN) by the State of Florida Department of Health
Minimum 5 years of relevant clinical nutrition experience preferably including experience with cystic fibrosis pulmonary or gastrointestinal patient populations.
Preferred Requirements Eligible for Compensation Incentive:
Masters degree in nutrition
Board Certification in Specialty Area
Knowledge Skills and Attitudes:
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to understand apply and follow instructions.
