Job Description

The Opportunity:

Avantor a global fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Export Bill of Lading Clerk to join the BPP & Chemical Manufacturing organization. The successful candidate will act as a point of contact between supervisory and warehouse associates in a complex manufacturing environment.

This role is full-time on site in Paris KY.

Who you are

Minimum Education Requirement:

  • Highschool diploma/ GED

Required Experience (2 yrs):

  • Warehousing preferably in a cGMP manufacturing environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Industrial powered equipment
  • Familiarity with cGMP SOPs and/or work instructions
  • Intermediate PC/ typing skills
  • Collaboration skills (IE: SAP Microsoft Office/ Excel Word)

With a willingness to shift priorities and meet SLAs the Export Bill of Lading Clerk will succeed by following written/ verbal instructions while organizing and prioritizing work assignments.

The Export Bill of Lading Clerk is responsible for:

  • Leading the daily task assignments associated with processing all daily picking packing and shipping of finished product and miscellaneous shipments.
  • Examining; sorting; arranging; counting; storing; picking and packing items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established work instructions SOPs and customer requirements
  • Label preparation for received and new products required for expiration extensions or transfers between warehouses
  • Preparing/ overseeing routine documentation (i.e. Bill of Ladings) hazardous material packaging and paperwork as is required by common carrier and material being shipped
  • Coordinating/ overseeing international shipment paperwork as required by each customer.
  • Communicating with forwarder to arrange shipment paperwork and pick- up of material.
  • Shipping/ overseeing miscellaneous shipping order preparation in support of all non-inventoried product packages and paperwork.
  • Coordinating/ overseeing special shipping requirements and packaging by quantity of product to be transported
  • Assisting/ maintaining the cycle count program to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Monitoring/ ensuring warehouse documents logs and charts are completed accurately as required by SOPs.
  • Working cross collaboratively to assure customers commitments are met in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining adequate levels of packaging materials shipping supplies and consumable storeroom supplies.
  • Assisting in repacking/ labeling of chemicals.
  • Preparing for and participating in internal audits.
  • Writing SOPs and work instructions.
  • Maintaining warehouse in a clean and safe condition.
  • Ensuring compliance with cGMPs SOP and work instructions.
  • Perform Warehouse Associate responsibilities.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Additional skills for success:

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read analyze and interpret SOPs coverage documents and regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively establish rapport present information and respond to questions from managers clients customers and the public. Skill and ability to meet people and listen.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and distance. Understanding of metric system measurements.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written / oral instructions.

Environment:

Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. May also work in warehouse setting with appropriate protective wear if performing pre-fill in-process and final inspections on product. Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems. A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis. Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking standing bending reaching lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 75 lbs.
