Job Description
Plateau GRP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle DBA/Database Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Oracle database administration and development with additional hands-on experience in PostgreSQL and MongoDB. You will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining efficient scalable and secure database solutions across multiple platforms.
This is a hybrid role working 2 days out of our Ybor based office.
This role will also involve configuration and data migration to AWS PostgreSQL Aurora as well as supporting evolving requirements that include NoSQL solutions like MongoDB.
Key Responsibilities
Oracle Development & Administration
- Design and develop Oracle databases including schemas tables views stored procedures and functions.
- Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective data solutions.
- Optimize database performance scalability and reliability.
- Ensure data integrity security and high availability.
PostgreSQL Support
- Configure migrate and maintain PostgreSQL databases with a focus on AWS Aurora PostgreSQL.
- Participate in the migration of existing Oracle workloads to PostgreSQL where applicable.
- Monitor and optimize query performance using native PostgreSQL tools and best practices.
MongoDB Integration
- Implement and manage MongoDB databases as part of hybrid data architecture.
- Support document-based data models for applications requiring NoSQL solutions.
- Ensure MongoDB deployments meet standards for security scalability and performance.
General Responsibilities
- Perform database tuning patching and upgrades.
- Automate database maintenance tasks where possible.
- Support disaster recovery planning and backup strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience with Oracle database development and administration.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL particularly in AWS Aurora environments.
- Experience with MongoDB (Atlas or self-hosted) and understanding of NoSQL principles.
- Proficiency in PL/SQL and SQL performance tuning.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Certifications
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
- PostgreSQL Certification (e.g. EDB or Crunchy Certified)
- MongoDB Associate or Professional Certification
