We are seeking a bold operationally minded leader to serve as Director of Mission Engineering & Operational Analysis. Are you an individual ready to shape the future of defense by solving the toughest warfighter challenges
In this role you will lead a complex multi-disciplinary team at the intersection of technical innovation threat analysis and operational problem decomposition. Your work involves deeply understanding operational gaps assessing evolving threat environments and translating complex mission needs into actionable technical insights that influence supported portfolio capability and product development strategies. The analysis generated by this team drives early influence with senior stakeholders shapes requirements and architectures and directly impacts operational effectiveness across domains.
This is a role for leaders who perform well under pressure and navigate complexity with clarity and who enjoy building new organizations. You will lead team integrating real-world threat data theater-level scenarios and physics based modeling into analysis that informs critical investment design and customer decisions. This role requires a deep understanding of military operations a passion for enabling mission outcomes and the technical acumen to align capabilities with operational realities. What You Will Do
The VSL will lead our Mission Engineering team as it plans and executes strategic Mission Engineering studies and utilize data that is collected during large scale customer events (e.g Northern Edge).
Stand up and institutionalize Mission Engineering as a service across Mission Systems
Establish and oversee a plan within budget to ensure the appropriate level of classified facilities and resources are available for the execution of required studies
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience
Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain TS/SCI after start.
Prior leadership experience managing teams required
Experience formulating and developing qualitative and quantitative value propositions; strong strategic creative and critical thinking skills
Qualifications We Prefer
Knowledge of Collins Mission Systems technical capabilities is desired but not required
Prior experience with Mission Engineering or Operational Assessment is strongly desired
Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance preferred

The salary range for this role is 176000 USD - 352000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
