Lead innovation and uphold the highest standards in aquaculture
As our Technical Director you will lead both the Quality and Formulation functions at BioMar UK setting the strategic and operational direction for these vital teams. Your work will ensure compliance with the highest food safety and quality standards while also driving innovation in feed formulation. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and to delivering on our sustainability goals.
Youll oversee internal and external audits implement and evolve quality management systems and guide your teams to improve product performance and customer satisfaction. Youll also be a key voice representing BioMar in regulatory and industry forums and work cross-functionally to align technical strategies with business goals.
- Lead the Quality Department ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards like HACCP and GMP
- Manage the formulation team to develop innovative sustainable and cost-effective feed solutions
- Collaborate with R&D procurement and commercial teams to optimise product performance and ingredient selection
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing across teams
- Represent BioMar UK in external forums and contribute to corporate ESG objectives

You are a strategic technical leader with a strong foundation in food safety formulation and aquaculture nutrition. You lead by example empowering your teams to excel while ensuring operational excellence. Your ability to work cross-functionally and bring clarity to complex challenges will make you a valuable partner across the business.
To succeed in this role you should bring:
- Proven experience in a senior technical leadership role within the feed food or aquaculture industry
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and formulation processes
- Demonstrated experience with audits compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
- A degree in Food Science Animal Nutrition Aquaculture or a related field
- Fluent English and a full driving licence
Nice-to-have experience includes knowledge of digital tools in formulation international standards and sustainability initiatives in feed production. The role is based in the UK and requires occasional travel for industry representation and stakeholder engagement.
