Job Description
We are searching for compassionate and energetic individuals to join our team! We are seeking a Full-Time Hospital Charge Tech located in our mid-town Charlotte office. Ideal candidates will have some experience in a busy medical practice ideally in insurance or coding. Must have the ability to multi-task. organize work effectively and have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. This is not a remote position.
- Generates accurate surgery charge tickets by extracting compiling and entering charge data submitted by providers resulting in timely coding and charge capture for all billable hospital services.
- Creates new patient records by accurately entering demographic authorization and insurance information.
- Maintains accurate records for charge tracking purposes.
- Organizes sorts and maintains multiple provider surgery calendar books.
- Organizes charge data hospital records and/or patient information received via email fax and/or mail.
- Works appeals tasks as assigned. Utilizes computer system for efficiency and maintains proper documentation of the appeal process from start to finish.
- Works collaboratively with staff to ensure charges are reported timely and efficiently.
- Cross trains works reports special projects and other tasks in support of departmental objectives as assigned.
- Ensures adherence to all our guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
- Applies our values in decision-making and interactions with all individuals.
- Promotes a positive work environment through effective teamwork.
- Other duties as assigned by changing needs patient flow or physician request.
