Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Line Lead is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production lines ensuring product quality supervising team members and driving continuous improvement. This role requires both operational and technical understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment with a strong focus on coaching problem-solving and process enhancement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee daily operation of production lines ensuring timely order fulfillment and product quality.
  • Monitor line performance and address equipment or quality issues.
  • Troubleshoot line and equipment problems; coordinate solutions with maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Utilize Lean tools (5S Huddles Metrics Continuous Improvement Boards) to optimize performance.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); teach production associates troubleshooting and operational practices.
  • Conduct in-process inspections; ensure compliance with GMP and safety standards.
  • Train and coach new line employees; lead teams of up to 10 in a high-speed environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with inventory using RF scanning.
  • Collaborate with production and process engineers to implement improvements with minimal downtime.
  • Perform hands-on mechanical and quality assessments; suggest tooling or process changes.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of the work area; promptly report unsafe conditions.
  • Approve time and attendance; authorize overtime.
  • Support a culture of acknowledgment integrity teamwork and accountability.

DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required; BS in Engineering or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • 3 years production experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting experience.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills especially under pressure.
  • Ability to read document and maintain detailed records.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs. and walk up to 6 miles per shift.
  • Forklift license and experience preferred.
  • Available to work off-shifts and flexible hours to meet production needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work in a noisy fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Frequent hand washing and personal hygiene compliance.
  • Must wear PPE including hairnets beard covers gloves ear protection and safety shoes.
  • Standing for long durations; alternating between tasks (e.g. packaging and testing).
  • Must follow dress and safety codeno loose clothing or jewelry.
