The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Electronic Repair Technician III to oversee complex repair operations and lead advanced troubleshooting efforts. This leadership role requires deep expertise in electronics exceptional diagnostic skills and a proactive approach to guiding both repair and engineering support teams. The ERT III will play a key role in developing new test solutions and repair processes mentoring junior technicians managing detailed repair documentation and collaborating closely with engineering to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead testing troubleshooting and repair of returned products to meet OEM and regulatory standards.
- Perform complex PCB-level rework using advanced SMT and PTH soldering techniques.
- Conduct thorough quality assurance testing on analog digital and RF circuitry.
- Analyze root causes of failures at the component subassembly and system levels.
- Design program and build custom test fixtures to enhance repair validation processes.
- Create maintain and review technical documentation work instructions and test protocols.
- Provide mentorship and technical support to junior technicians and peers.
- Lead process improvement initiatives and evaluate new tools technologies or methodologies.
- Maintain repair and inventory records with high accuracy in internal tracking systems.
- Support ISO 13485 compliance by following and improving quality-related procedures.
- Assist in equipment staging and configuration for redeployment to customers or field locations.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities youll need for this opportunity:
- Associates degree in electronics completion of 2-3 years of relevant bachelor-level coursework or
- Equivalent military training and at least 10 years of experience or
- Extensive on-the-job training with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on electronics repair experience.
- Advanced knowledge of electronics theory and expert-level diagnostic capabilities.
- Proven troubleshooting skills across analog digital and RF circuitry.
- Mastery in soldering including fine-pitch SMT and PTH rework.
- Deep familiarity with test equipment: oscilloscopes multimeters power supplies RF tools.
- Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and technical diagrams.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Experience creating test procedures and designing test fixtures.
- Proactive organized and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Commitment to safety accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality standards is a plus.
