The Environmental Professional position (located in Catlettsburg KY) will support the environmental compliance efforts for the refinery. As a member of the HES&S team the Environmental Professional provides technical guidance on regulatory programs including air water and waste. The Environmental Professional teams with Operations and Maintenance personnel to ensure compliant practices. Some duties include conducting environmental audits providing training on environmental-related topics evaluating project and maintenance activities obtaining and maintaining operating permits interacting with regulatory agencies and participating in emergency preparedness. This position will report to the Environmental Manager.
This position will be responsible for the implementation and management of environmental issues and programs in the assigned media. Additional responsibilities include:
and implement new environmental compliance programs in conformance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
and improve existing environmental compliance programs.
required regulatory reports in areas of responsibility.
compliance assistance to other departments within the refinery.
refinery projects for regulatory compliance and develop permit applications as required.
new regulations for potential impacts on the refinery.
as a member of an Area Team to support day-to-day operation of the refinery in compliance with applicable requirements and company policies.
and participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions as requested.
and participate in HES field audits and develop corrective actions as required.
special projects as assigned.
face-to-face training for groups of various sizes and backgrounds.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in science or a technical field of study required (engineering preferred)
5 or more years of environmental refining or petrochemical experience preferred
