Job Description:

We are seeking a Consumer Banking Lawyer with strong experience in credit card and consumer finance products to join our growing team. This role supports client engagements in the financial services and industrials sectors and is ideal for a mid-level attorney with a background in regulatory compliance consumer products and credit card programs. Candidates with automotive consumer finance experience or prior work on credit card dispute resolution FCRA collections and vendor oversight are strongly encouraged to apply. The role is primarily remote though some clients may require on-site presence in NYC.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support for credit card and consumer banking products including small business credit cards and deposit products.
  • Advise on regulatory and compliance matters related to FCRA UDAAP Reg E Reg Z and other consumer protection frameworks.
  • Assist in dispute resolution collections strategy and vendor oversight related to credit card and deposit offerings.
  • Draft review and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers supporting consumer finance products.
  • Partner with compliance risk operations and business teams to support day-to-day legal needs.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting consumer finance and proactively recommend action.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • JD or equivalent with active bar membership in good standing.
  • At least 3 years of legal experience focused on consumer banking credit cards or consumer finance products.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations including FCRA TILA and UDAAP.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable supporting high-volume or fast-paced client environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Automotive consumer finance or experience advising industrial clients.
  • Previous in-house experience supporting credit card or deposit product offerings.
  • Experience with consumer product dispute resolution and vendor management.
  • Ability to go on-site in NYC as needed.

Compensation Benefits & Location:

This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $138000 and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits 401k and more.
