What Will you Do
The Direct Liaison for Behavioral Health (DLBH) is a partnership between Pine Rest Christian Mental Health and local schools. The DLBH will seek to improve communication and coordination for the mental health and behavioral health needs of students and families in the district. The DLBH will contribute to student success and wellbeing by bringing an experienced and educated clinical perspective to the academic domain. The DLBH position is year-round and requires flexibility and adaptability regarding schedule and location demands. The Direct Liaison for Behavioral Health is further divided into two categories: therapist and liaison. Our Direct Liaison for Behavorial Healthare dedicated to excellent customer service enthusiastic about the care we offer and foster a sense of belonging and empowerment in a diverse workplace.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Participates in the interviewing of persons served and assessing them through mental status as well as reviewing records obtained from other patient care staff.
Collaborates with other treatment team members regarding patients progress through interdisciplinary team meetings record review and informal discussions.
Ensures that medical record documentation protocols are complied with. Ensures that persons served progress notes are entered into the medical records on a timely basis and in accordance with established organizational and departmental procedures.
May coordinate services and community resources as needed and assist persons served in obtaining them.
Participates regularly in departmental and staff meetings. Serves on programs or organizational committees as required and as time and workload allow.
Maintains all Michigan and/or Iowa licensure requirements.
Builds knowledge of current trends and developments in treatment and counseling through the use of appropriate professional literature medical workshops and publications. Fulfills continuing education requirements as per PRCMHS departmental policies.
Participates in education and training programs for persons served families or community groups.
Provides consultation to professionals hospitals organizations or agencies outside of Pine Rest.
Membership and involvement in local state and national professional organizations is encouraged.
May be required to support and promote a recovery focused environment and person-centered approach within the program.
Additional Duties for Therapist Role:
Selects and completes appropriate therapeutic interventions based upon clinical knowledge base and educational background (to include individual group family experiential and evidence based models).
Additional Duties for Liaison Role:
May conduct research.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provides training/supervision to interns or new employees within the same field as assigned.
What Does the Role Require
Education/Experience:
Current state licensure in an accredited Masters level program in Social Work or Professional Counseling.
Position may accept a limited licensed Psychologist or Professional Counselor.
Obtain and maintain in good standing certification commiserate with treatment provided.
Trained to work in the age group of the patient being served with annual continuing age specific education and demonstrated competence.
One to two years of postgraduate clinical experience is preferred.
