Job Details:

The Mercer Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Care clinic in Macon GA is searching for a Physical Therapist.


Responsibilities:

The role of the Physical Therapist is to evaluate design and implement a patients plan of care. Each Plan of Care is created to increase maintain or restore function minimize or prevent disability and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels.

Qualifications:

A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from an accredited program and three years of directly related experience are required. Candidates must also have certification and licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia as well as current CPR certification and ACLS certification.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Works calmly in a fast-paced healthcare facility.

  • Works independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.

  • Strong leadership skills as well as strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills.

  • Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and EHR systems.

  • Implements actionable plans to meet established goals and objectives.

  • Collaborates with coworkers and has strong interpersonal skills.

  • Communicates effectively and has strong public speaking skills.

  • Learns quickly and has strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Develop strong relationships with patients and their families and communicate with empathic skills.

  • As needed must be able to lift and support patients during therapy sessions.
