Job Description
Medicine Hat Public School Division
This position will be filled in accordance with the Agreement between the
Board of Trustees and Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 829:
cole Connaught School
Library Assistant
10-month work schedule from September to June
Full-Time 1.0 FTE/37.5 hours per week.
Ef fective Date: August 25 2025
cole Connaught School is a K to 6 French Immersion Centre helping students to navigate the journey through French Immersion.
Main duties will include:
- taking leadership in organizing and maintaining the school library
- facilitating literacy themes and book fairs
- assisting students and staff with accessing library resources
- reading to and sharing stories and novels with classes K-6
- helping to foster a school-wide literacy-rich environment and love of reading
Preference will be given to applicants who have previous library experience previous experience with the integrated library software systems and proficiency using Microsoft Office.
The successful candidate will also value a student-centered focus and a positive team/collaborative approach. The successful candidate must be aligned with the values and vision of cole Connaught School and Medicine Hat Public School Division.
**The ability to speak and read French would be an asset but is not considered a requirement for this position.
