We are looking for a candidate who enjoys supporting work related to Congressional testimonies responses to Congressional correspondence and tracking legislative activity.

Strong candidates will have acumen in how oversight and appropriations committees operate how Congress interacts and intersects with federal agencies and how agencies interact with members of Congress and their staff. If you are passionate about being part of a high performing team generating positive attention for a client and have the requisite prior experience wed love to talk to you. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to a Legislative Affairs Manager and federal Legislative Affairs office.
  • Help analyze legislative requirements and programmatic direction for cybersecurity and infrastructure security and resilience activities.
  • Oversee the tracking monitoring and providing status reports on legislative activities in Congress and State governments as appropriate.
  • Maintain a tracker for Congressional reporting requirements.
  • Maintain a tracker for Congressional engagement.
  • Assist with Congressional correspondence process to include gathering initial information from subcomponents for staff and tracking to completion.
  • Help create a weekly report identifying legislation of interest to the agency and status as well as engagements social media summaries of events of interest and identification of future engagements of interest for leadership awareness and team tracking.
  • Monitor legislation and hearings and prepare summaries of such activities relevant to the cybersecurity and infrastructure security mission space.
  • Help produce and assemble background materials for all Congressional products including briefing books reports information papers and similar products.

Basic Qualifications:

Currently holds or is able to obtain DHS Fitness Determination

  • BS/BA
  • Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience with: serving in the public sector or a public affairs public policy or public relations organization analyzing activities and new policies established by local state and federal governments providing summaries of public policy matters and an understanding of the legislative landscape of DHS and CISA.

Preferred Skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication skills especially written.
  • Consultancy or government agency experience preferred.
  • Self-starter with ability to handle multiple priorities.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position including but not limited to relevant work experience skills certifications and competencies that align to the specified role geographic location education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$81094.00 - $137860.00
