Job Description
As our Manufacturing Buyer at Kaas Tailored you will work directly with our companys suppliers to ensure we have the materials and established relationships needed to support our role includes purchasing new supplies and fostering relationships with vendors as well as negotiating vendor an outstanding Manufacturing Buyer should be able to multitask effectively have exceptional analytical abilities demonstrate end-to-end thinking problem-solving and decision-making skills.
You will be a part of our team that helps achieve our purchasing statement of purpose which is We research and procure high quality cost-effective material components and services for our operations team just in time by creating mutually beneficial relationships with approved suppliers.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for placing purchase orders and following up on purchase orders.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to bring solutions from new product development to product actualization.
- Responsible for developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors.
- Regularly meets and audits suitable vendors (current and potential) to assess their products inquire about their services negotiate prices and communicate any product or service-related concerns.
- Conduct research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality.
- Facilitates adjustments to vendor strategies based on customer needs and market outlook.
- Utilize vendor management programs and identify ways to improve them.
- Systematically evaluate vendors to ensure that the best vendors are secured.
- Troubleshoot vendor issues and come to a resolution using our defined processes and standard work.
- Administer contracts with vendors and schedule deliveries to support the operations workflow.
- Ensure all vendor contracts and documentation are stored accordingly in the vendor management system.
- Support the vendor onboarding process which includes having the required documentation timely accurately and in accordance with policies.
- Participate in process improvement within the department through Kaizen.
This position supports all areas of the business both in furniture and aerospace.
Ideally qualified applicants have:
- 2-3 years of related experience including conducting purchasing functions such as placing and managing purchase orders sourcing alternate vendors and materials research
- Associate degree
- Interest and experience with developing relationships with individuals from other organizations both up and down the supply chain
- The desire to serve others with humility
- A self-starter
- The desire to make a positive impact within the organization
- Willing and able to work in an open office environment
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel Word and Outlook) and general technical aptitude
- The desire to learn and grow

Benefits package includes:
The wage range depending on experience is $24.50 - $31.50 per hour.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
Under 12 months: 1 hour PTO for every 30 worked
After 1 Year: 70 hours PTO
After 3 Years: 110 hours PTO
After 5 Years: 120 hours 30 hours paid Holiday during Christmas week
Holidays:New Years Day Memorial Day 4th of July Labor Day Thanksgiving and Christmas are paid for 10 hours after 1 month of employment
Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits:Eligible for coverage on the 1st day of the month following completion of 60 days of employment
Tuition Assistance:Eligible after 6 months of employment
401(k):Employer match based on the profitability of the company
Technology Reimbursement:Eligible after 1 year of employment
