RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Work independently to underwriteprimary umbrella and excess policies for highly complex risks
Establish and maintainstrong relationships withassignedbrokers in order to successfullymaintainour businesswhich will require travel to producer location.
Provide input on strategies and actions that can maximize product line underwriting results and competitive advantageswhile being mindful of theorganizational goals of returning desired ROE for the units underwriting results.
Review large losses to identify any trends or training issues and provide post loss analysis
whenrequested
Personally participate in marketplace initiatives to expand the overall Arch brand and the specific reputation through interface with regional customers brokers and other industry professionals.
Complete special projects asassigned by the RVP
Work independently as a member of a team while building a profitable book ofbusiness.
Regularly meet with key brokers and agents industry groups and insureds to present and represent Archs interest in the region.
Ensure that underwriting applications and practiceswithin their bookare in accordance with appropriate regulatory requirements.
Assist finance claims legal marketing IT and compliance as needed.
Participate in industryconferences as required
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills as evidenced by extensive successfulexternalexperience in dealing with brokers agents policyholders and industry groups andinternalexperience in dealing with peers support staff management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability tounderstand and interpret various sources of information to make informed decisions.
Strongcustomer-service focus with the ability to effectively multi-task with limited direction
Proficiency in prioritizing work meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BA or BS undergraduate degree with exposure to Economics Mathematics Business admin or Finance preferred (professional CPCU certification and/or MBA desired).
Minimum of 4years of P&C production underwriting experience including a progression to more senior underwriting roles with dedicated underwriting authority.
