Job Opportunity: Carbon Consultant
Location: London/Surrey (Hybrid 3 days in the office per week)
Salary:(Depending on Experience)
Our client is hiring a Carbon Consultant to lead sustainability projects with a core focus on carbon accounting and emissions strategy. This role involves supporting clients in calculating managing and reducing their carbon footprints while aligning with evolving ESG and net-zero expectations
Youll work with a range of clients across industries helping them calculate manage and reduce their carbon footprints while embedding sustainability into their core operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead carbon-focused sustainability projects from scoping through delivery ensuring alignment with client net-zero goals.
- Calculate carbon footprints using leading methodologies (Scope 1 2 and 3 emissions) and develop tailored reduction and offsetting strategies.
- Apply key ESG and sustainability frameworks such as TCFD GRI ISSB and SASB to support reporting and disclosures.
- Prepare carbon-specific sections of ESG reports and produce high-quality TCFD-aligned disclosures.
- Translate carbon data into actionable insights for clients senior leadership and sustainability teams.
- Monitor project timelines and budgets while maintaining strong communication and relationships with clients.
- Support internal knowledge-sharing and thought leadership on carbon-related topics.
Professional and Personal Attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in carbon accounting and lifecycle emissions analysis.
- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks and how they relate to carbon and climate reporting.
- Proficiency in carbon footprint tools and methodologies (e.g. GHG Protocol CDP ISO 14064).
- Exceptional project management and client engagement skills.
- Analytical mindset with a detail-oriented hands-on approach to delivery.
- Passionate about sustainability and the role carbon plays in achieving global climate goals.
