This is a non-union positionOur Calgary Alberta office is looking for a dedicated System Optimization Senior Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will support pipeline system performance analysis of throughput and power consumption for the purpose of providing recommendations to increase efficiency and throughput and minimize power cost on the Enbridge pipeline network. In this role you will also support in improving the efficiency for the tools used in System Optimizations analysis and ensuring all tools are maintained and updated regularly. What You Will Do:
Analyze and recommend flow rates pump utilization DRA injection rates and/or other optimizations for current/day-to-day pipeline operations that improve revenues and reduce cost.
Work with Control Center (CCO) Engineering Infrastructure Planning Scheduling LP Utility Power and Partnerships and other stakeholders to identify and investigate new power saving opportunities.
Perform data analytics to investigate root causes for inefficiency/power expense via combination of technical and commercial knowledge of Enbridge power systems and contracts.
Develop in-house macros/tools/coded solutions to reduce redundancy or manual spreadsheet entry in various processes in SharePoint.
Analyze electricity markets and utility contracts to minimize ongoing power costs across the liquid pipeline system as well as to identify new opportunities for power savings strategies.
Who you are:
Degree or diploma in an Engineering Data Science Mathematics or Statistics related subject area with 2-4 years of related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Strong problem-solving ability curiosity and desire to learn new skills.
Intermediate level computer skills usage of Microsoft Excel SAS and programming experience.
Ability to quickly learn to effectively use custom in house software tools.
Ability to effectively influence partners through strong interpersonal skills (written and oral communication skills) tact and diplomacy.
Project management skills are also considered an asset.
Strong programming knowledge of Python macro-writing skills and ability to interpret coding with IT is preferred.
Working Conditions:
Office environment.
Minimal travel is required (<2%).
