Job Description
Location: Temple TX 76508
Assignment Duration: 12 Weeks
Open to Local & Travel Candidates
Position Highlights:
- Shift: 10-hr Days 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
- Weekly Pay Rate: $2200 - $2320
Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by anticipating surgeon needs to make sure the procedure is executed as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
- Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments supplies and equipment.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterilized and properly arranged.
- Maintain a sterile field and follow strict aseptic techniques throughout the procedure.
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team during operations.
- Handle specimens for lab analysis in accordance with protocols.
- Count sponges needles and instruments before and after the surgery to prevent retained items.
- Assist in post-operative cleanup and preparation of the room for the next case.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to infection control and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (required)
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by NBSTSA or NCCT (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required)
- 1 year of recent operating room experience.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and aseptic technique
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
