Job Description
- Location: San Angelo TX 76903
- Schedule: 08:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Guaranteed Hours: 24
- Compensation: Based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and obtain comprehensive or problem-focused physical exams and medical histories.
- Order interpret and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments with attention to efficacy safety and cost.
- Develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans using evidence-based practices.
- Counsel patients and families on health management medications and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate medical records of treatment plans and patient outcomes.
- Refer patients appropriately when cases exceed the PA scope of practice.
- Provide consultation services related to your specialty.
- Perform invasive procedures within PA scope and competence as delegated by the supervising physician.
- Support department coverage as needed which may include duties outside of regular schedule.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (preferably in urgent care or emergency medicine).
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) in Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer).
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Key Success Factors:
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic therapeutic and preventive care techniques.
- Skilled in managing both physical and mental health conditions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHRs) and clinical software.
- Ability to evaluate lab tests and interpret results effectively.
- Ability to develop treatment plans and educate patients on behavior modification and medication use.
