Security Guard Day Shift (Every Other Weekend Required)
Haverhill Pavilion Behavioral Health Hospital Haverhill MA
Shift: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM Every Other Weekend Required Starting Rate: $20/hour
Haverhill Pavilion is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Security Guard to join our team on the day shift. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured team-based environment and is committed to maintaining a secure therapeutic setting for patients staff and visitors.
While the primary responsibilities center around facility safety and security Security Guards at Haverhill Pavilion also frequently assist with patient care and unit support functioning in many ways like a Behavioral Health Associate (BHA). This includes interacting closely with patients supporting behavioral interventions and contributing to the overall therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor all individuals entering and exiting the facility to ensure safety protocols are followed.
Conduct routine safety checks and facility sweeps including the lobby hallways and exterior areas.
Supervise the parking area and deter loitering or inappropriate conduct on hospital grounds.
Maintain detailed and accurate logbooks and incident reports.
Respond to emergencies and direct emergency personnel on site during drills or real incidents.
Communicate arrivals of admissions deliveries and visitors to appropriate staff.
Assist with de-escalation of behavioral situations under the supervision of clinical staff.
Support patients in activities of daily living provide observation and monitoring as needed and ensure a safe and supportive environment.
Build therapeutic rapport with patients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
Report any suspicious behavior or safety concerns promptly to the CEO and leadership team.
Other Functions:
Support patient engagement by participating in group activities or unit programming when appropriate.
Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to ensure consistent care and safety measures.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous security military law enforcement or behavioral health experience preferred.
Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress or emergency situations.
Strong observational and communication skills.
Commitment to maintaining a professional and respectful approach with patients staff and visitors.
Must be available to work every other weekend and day shifts as scheduled.
