TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8000 students located in Laredo Texas a vibrant and bicultural city with a population of about 250000. The university advances knowledge through research and discovery teaching and learning community engagement and public service and with an intentional focus on student success and research excellence. For more information please visit is athis is a 1-year non-tenure track visiting faculty position. Primary duties will includeteaching 15 SCH per semester which includes teaching Applied Clarinet Music History and/or Music Theory courses. Duties also includeproviding service on departmental committees and college/university levels if necessary. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
The Department of Fine and Performing Arts include disciplines of art dance music and theater. Our dynamic faculty component is constantly seeking multidisciplinary opportunities for collaboration.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold adoctoral degree or PhD in music with a specialization in Clarinet Performance ABDs will not be considered. We strongly encourage candidates withprior teaching experience at the collegiate level.
