Job Description

He aha te tranga - About the role: 

The Internal Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting a broad range of internal communications activity across Hato Hone St John. This is a busy and fast-paced role which supports the team with administration content management and creation and contributes to the delivery of our communications strategy.

  • Provide key support to the Internal Communications Manager to ensure the successful delivery of internal communication channels projects campaigns and initiatives.
  • Alongside the Internal Communications Specialist keep org wide internal communication channels up to date with inspiring fresh and audience centric content.
  • Support the Communications Business Partner - Ambulance Operations on delivery of key comms channels and projects.
  • Provide key administrative support to the Commuinications function. Activities include coordinating stats and reports maintaining the content calendar and library minute taking and updating comms collateral.
  • Contribute to content gathering and research for internal bulletins memos publications and reports.

The role is based at our Ellerslie office in Auckland and is a full-time fixed-term contract through until May 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an emerging communications professional with a genuine desire to make a positive difference. To be successful you will have the following:

  • A degree in communications media or relevant discipline with subsequent relevant experience or relevant practical communications experience ideally in an NGO or service organisation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to write and produce communications for a diverse audience and a variety of communications channels.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills capacity to work independently and prioritise workloads.
  • An understanding of what makes something newsworthy and an ability to craft a story for varied audience interests.
  • High computer literacy and comfort picking up new technologies. Excellent word processing writing and editing skills including ability to work with video equipment.
