APMEX is seeking a talented Junior Product Developer to join our team of energetic professionals all looking to grow their stories! The junior product developer will be responsible for the holistic approach for designing a new product. This includes everything from conducting market research identifying problems product development designing informed solutions and a go-to-market plan. In other words taking a simple idea and turning it into something tangible. The right candidate will be able to coordinate and project manage new product development and packaging ideas throughout that process collaborating with cross-functional teams. The life of a Junior Product Developer at a glance!

• Manage multiple product & packaging projects keeping projects on-budget and on-schedule
• Act as a liaison between design product management and manufacturing on ongoing projects
• Lead in all steps in design packaging and product development including physical product and packaging sample review & approval
• Build new product proposals including financial business cases and creative briefs
• Write technical specifications that convey the requirements for product development; communicate design requirements to designers and vendors
• Lead several licensed brands including submitting product proposals royalty reports and forecasts
• Assist in building out proposals for new licensors or expansion of product lines with current partners
• Select the appropriate vendors based on project-specific demands and budgets
• Conduct market research to determine opportunity for both licensed and non-licensed products.
• Very detail-oriented self-starter with follow-through & strong communication skills
• A keen eye for premium products & brands and how the use of craftsmanship innovation and novelty can elevate the customer experience.

Education:

Bachelors degree in product design development sculpture 3D or industrial design or other related field required

Experience:

• 0-1 years of experience in product design or development
• Specifying designing and managing projects
• Familiarity with building product and packaging concepts designs costing analysis vendor negotiations and manufacturing compliance are preferred
• Ability to draw in 2D
• Attention to detail including the ability to inspect artworks and artwork components and physical product and packaging samples
• Familiar with the licensing process submitting product approvals and building product concepts.
• Understanding of both retail (DTC) and wholesale (B2B) business channels a plus.
• Experience with Jira or other project management software a plus but not required.
