Job Description

Overview

The ExpressCare Clinical Manager responsible for the day-to-day operation of the clinic including line management responsibility for personnel as directed by the ExpressCare Director and Specialty Services Administrator. Responsibilities include providing financial and operational information as requested; maintaining effective communication with physicians and APPs and Memorial Physician Services leadership; ensuring compliance with established standards practices and regulatory requirements; planning managing and directing activities of the business staff and clinical staff; maintaining supply inventories; completion of payroll functions; maintain minimum set levels of patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education:

  • BSN required
  • Masters degree in Nursing or related field required. In lieu of completed masters degree active enrollment in a masters program. Completion of masters degree required within 2 years of hire.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

  • RN registered in the state of Illinois required.

Experience:

  • Minimum five years experience in patient-care setting required.
  • Minimum one year previous management/demonstrated leadership experience required.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Aptitude to work in a changing and ambiguous environment.
  • Outstanding human relations skills and ability to interact with a broad range of people.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Scope of Supervision:

  1. The Clinical Manager reports to the ExpressCare Director.
  2. Personnel reporting to this position will include nurses and techs or physicians and advanced practice providers.
  3. The Clinical Manager coordinates with other managers and supervisors within the ExpressCare setting including laboratory radiology and MPS.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for routine managerial functions including but not limited to; physician and colleague staffing and work assignments; colleague satisfaction; payroll preparation; hiring and direct supervision of clinic staff; yearly and as needed performance appraisals; orientation and/or training of colleagues; conducting physician and staff meetings; implementation of clinic policy procedures and process; assisting in the development and implementation of the budget and strategic plan; fulfillment of managed care requirements; financial reporting; maintenance of facilities and equipment; stocking of supplies; purchasing of equipment; patient satisfaction.

  1. Responsible for development and maintenance of standardized clinical evidence-based policy and procedures.

  1. Assists in ExpressCare expansion initiatives and ensures adoption of standardized clinical evidence-based policy and procedures at all new and existing locations.

  1. Assists clinic in meeting financial goals. Works with providers and staff to meet productivity targets attain reasonable reimbursement. Identifies opportunities to Strengthen Our Future.

  1. Builds and maintains professional working relationships with various departments of Memorial Health System including laboratory radiology emergency department and Memorial Physician Services.

  1. Demonstrates responsibility for personal and professional growth as reflected in creating and accomplishing annual professional development plan.

  1. Maintain a sound knowledge base of current trends treatments and developments in Urgent Care practices.

  1. Develop and participate in new colleague onboarding and continuing education including yearly competencies.

  1. Complies with all clinic policies and procedures. Applies the Minimum Necessary Standard when accessing protected health information. Monitors employees to ensure they do the same.

  1. Demonstrates support for and participates in accomplishing team goals and objectives.

  1. Performs other related work as required or requested.
