Job Roles and Responsibilities:While actual roles and responsibilities will vary depending on individual circumstances the School Counselor will generally be required to perform some or all of the following tasks. Note that this list is not all-inclusive and that the administration may also assign other tasks deemed learning expectations of students at all times as fostered by the in building the classroom schedule to best prepare each student for a successful completion of academic requirementsHelp with transition and planning from building to buildings within district Assist all students individually or in groups with developing academic career and personal/social skills goals and plans. Recommend change of class or other treatment to assist in helping students applications for Vocation Tech/Private Schools if participate in the Building Emergency Response Team and Child Study Team students whose behavior school progress or mental or physical handicap or condition necessitates parents and students to participate in the learning process through communication about students personal and academic Tier 1 counseling and social skills interventions in an individual/group with staff and parents regarding student concerns and refer to outside agencies as knowledge of and experience with students who have emotional disabilities autism spectrum disorders and other social/adjustment teachers and staff in behavioral interventions and strategies to assist and implement a positive system of student that all students are offered equitable opportunities to participate in school resources for faculty and families to address students results of testing of academic and SEI-related testing to staff and parents in a timely effective and professional and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with all members of the school community to carry out the assigned student population the help needed to become acquainted with the educational programs support services policies and procedures and facilities of the school counseling services as defined in students IEP and 504 developmentally appropriate and prevention-oriented group activities to meet student needs and school goals. Other duties as reasonably assigned by the Principal Assistant Principals and/or Director of Student Services.
